VOLLEYBALL ENTERTAINS COASTAL, CSU FOR HOMECOMING WEEKEND



SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford hosts defending Big South tournament champion Coastal Carolina, Friday at 7 p.m., and Charleston Southern, Saturday at 4 p.m., in volleyball action inside the Dedmon Center.
  • The Highlanders and the Chanticleers will meet for the first time since their epic five-set thriller in the 2014 tournament title match in Conway, S.C.
  • RU has lost two in a row to Coastal since defeating the Chants in the 2013 Big South tournament championship match.
  • Radford has won four straight in the CSU series.
  • Saturday's contest is designated as the annual Dig Pink match.
  • The Highlanders are 4-2 at home this season.

  • On the strength of a sizzling .322 attack clip, Radford notched its second Big South win of the season last Saturday at Campbell.
  • The Highlanders are the conference leader in kills per set (13.14) and assists per set (12.11).
  • Radford is fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.204).
  • Megan Short ranks third in the Big South in hitting percentage (.371) and fifth in kills per set (3.08).
  • Kelby Jackson is eighth among Big South players in digs per set (3.83).

  • Ashley Higginbothem averages 4.91 digs per set, which rank third in the Big South.
  • Katrina Houston paces the offensive attack with her 2.74 kills per set.
