MEN’S SOCCER LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK AGAINST HIGH POINT



SETTING THE STAGE
  • After suffering its first Big South setback of the season Tuesday night at Winthrop, 25th-ranked Radford will look to rebound Saturday at 6 p.m. when the Highlanders host High Point in a men's soccer conference clash at Cupp Stadium.
  • RU and the Panthers rank first and third, respectively, in goals scored among Big South programs.
  • Marc Reeves is 2-2-2 against High Point as Radford's head coach.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 9-2-1, 4-1-0 Big South
  • Radford has ascended to No. 26 in the latest RPI rankings and No. 9 in the South Region.
  • RU is ranked No. 25 in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com and College Soccer News, while receiving six votes in the NSCAA poll.
  • Fifteen of the Highlanders' league-leading 26 goals scored this season are by underclassmen.

SCOUTING HIGH POINT

  • Series: Radford leads, 11-6-4
  • High Point, which is coming off a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech, has won five of its last seven outings.
  • Avery Ryan has fired a conference-high 40 shots for the Panthers, who top the league in that category (224).
  • HPU is stingy on defense, only allowing 10 goals and a 0.72 goals against average (both rank second in the Big South).
  • High Point also has six shutouts, which are tied for first in the league with Coastal Carolina.
  • The Panthers are 2-2-2 on the road this season.

  • Radford visits Lynchburg, Va., for Tuesday's Big South battle against Liberty at 6 p.m.
  • The match was originally scheduled for Oct. 3, but poor weather forced the contest to be postponed.
