WOMEN’S SOCCER HEADS TO HIGH POINT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT CLASH

Live Stats | Live Video

RADFORD, Va. – After picking up an elusive first Big South victory, the Radford women's soccer team heads back out on the road to face defending conference tournament champion High Point on Saturday. Kickoff on the turf at HPU's Vert Stadium is set for 7 p.m.

The Highlanders (6-9-0, 1-6-0) have won the shot and corner kick battles in both of their last two matches. With a pair of assists in Wednesday night's win over Gardner-Webb, Ana Revollo now leads balanced RU in points with eight. Hannah Duff also dished out two helpers in the game, giving her a share of the team-lead with three. Duff and Jessica Wollmann both have seven points. Sammie Shiflette has tallied goals in two straight contests and is one of eight Highlanders with multiple counters on the season, and one of nine to contribute at least four points. In conference play, Radford ranks third in the Big South in shots per game and tied for fifth in points per game.

Scouting High Point: The Panthers (8-3-4, 3-2-1) are coming off of a 3-0 road victory at UNC Asheville on Wednesday… The shutout was HPU's ninth of the season, setting a new program record… Seven of their eight wins have come via clean sheets and they have allowed just one goal in the last five matches… Alex Persiani has seven of the shutouts and boasts a Big South-best 0.48 GAA, but ranks just 10th with 47 saves… Offensively, three players share the team-lead with three goals, while three others each have two.

Series History: Radford is 12-9-3 against High Point all-time, including 4-4-0 on the road… The Panthers won last year's meeting 3-1, scoring three unanswered after the Highlanders got an early goal… RU came away with a 2-1 overtime win at HPU in 2013, its only match there since 2009.

Up Next: The Highlanders make their final road trip of the regular-season on Wednesday as they travel to Coastal Carolina for an afternoon contest. Radford then hosts Winthrop for Senior Night next Saturday.
