WOMEN’S SOCCER CAPS ROAD SLATE AT COASTAL WEDNESDAY

Live Stats | Live Video

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team plays its final road game of the regular season on Wednesday afternoon as it faces conference leader Coastal Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Conway, S.C.

The Highlanders (6-10-0, 1-7-0) need victories in their final two matches to have a chance at earning a spot in this year's Big South Tournament. Katie McCormick is coming off a seven-save performance to surpass her career high with 77 stops on the season, second-most among conference goalkeepers. RU continues to be among the league leaders in shots, ranking first overall and third in conference play. Eleven different players have recorded at least 15 shots, including Sammie Shiflette, who has put 12 of her 16 attempts on frame, for a team-best .750 SOG percentage.

Scouting Coastal Carolina: The Chanticleers (9-5-1, 5-1-1) rebounded from their lone league loss to beat UNC Asheville 3-1 on Saturday… The 1-0 setback to Campbell last Wednesday ended a six-match unbeaten streak… Coastal has totaled 27 goals on the season, with sophomore Daniella Famili scoring seven and freshman Kayla Christian contributing six… Junior Amber Adams, a first-team all-conference defender last season, has added four goals and five assists… Junior goalkeeper Becca Austin has started all 15 games and recorded 72 saves.

Series History: Coastal leads the all-time series 9-7-2, but Radford has won four of the last five meetings, including a 1-0 decision at home last year… The Chanticleers' lone victory in that stretch came in the Highlanders' last trip to Conway in 2013 and was also a 1-0 score.

Up Next: Radford will return home and close out the regular season with a Senior Night contest against Winthrop on Saturday. The Highlanders' five seniors will be honored prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff at Cupp Stadium.
