RADFORD FACES SECOND STRAIGHT NATIONALLY-RANKED FOE



SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford squares off against its second straight nationally-ranked foe when the Highlanders travel to No. 21 Elon for Wednesday night's regular-season finale.
  • Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Rudd Field in Elon, N.C.
  • Marc Reeves is 1-2-2 against the Phoenix as Radford's head coach.

  • Record: 12-2-2, 7-1-1 Big South
  • Radford ranks No. 32 in the latest RPI rankings and is receiving votes in the NSCAA coaches' poll.
  • Twenty-four of the Highlanders' league-leading 36 goals scored this season are by underclassmen.
  • In addition to being the Big South leader in goals scored, RU ranks first in assists per game (2.19) and second in shots per game (16.88).
  • Radford's 2.25 goals per game are tied for seventh in the nation.
  • RU has seven shutouts in 2015, which rank second in the league.

  • Elon had lost two in a row prior to defeating the College of Charleston, 1-0, in double overtime last Saturday.
  • The Phoenix is ranked No. 20 in the current RPI standings.
  • James Brace and Eduardo Alvarez are Elon's top two goal scorers with five apiece.
  • Matthew Jegler has played every match in goal for the Phoenix, notching eight shutouts and a 0.92 goals against average.
  • Elon is 6-0-0 at home for the 2015 campaign.
