AUBURN, Ala. ---- Radford continues its season to the state of Alabama, this time facing off against Auburn in a three-game series at Plainsman Park. The Highlanders opened the 2015 campaign with a 2-1 mark against Samford last weekend. The Red and White are 1-9 all-time against the Tigers, with the last meeting coming in 2011 when Auburn took two of a three-game series. This weekend's contests can be viewed on the SEC Network+ and WatchESPN. The series kicks off on Friday at 3 p.m. and concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Auburn enters its second series of the season after splitting a pair of midweek games at South Alabama (L, 7-4) and at home against Alabama State (W, 7-5). Right-handed pitcher Trey Wingenter will take to the mound on Friday to make his second start of the season. The junior went four innings and did not factor into the decision against Binghamton. Righty Rocky McCord also took a no decision after his first start, but he tossed 5.0 innings and struck out four with no earned runs. Right-hander Kevin Davis will start game three. The Tigers tallied three home runs on Wednesday against Alabama State with Jordan Ebert, Daniel Robert and Hunter Tackett all going deep.

THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford opened its season last weekend with an impressive 5-2 victory at Samford. Michael Boyle went 6.0 strong innings, and Hunter Higgerson drove in three runs as the Highlanders took the opening game of the three-game series. After stumbling late against the Bulldogs in game two, Radford responded with a pair of runs in both the seventh and ninth innings to post an 8-4 series-clinching victory in game three. Josh Reavis doubled home the go-ahead run in the seventh, and Shane Johnsonbaugh plated his third run of the day with a triple in the ninth. Ryan Meisinger earned a six-out save in the effort.
