RADFORD OPENS WITH LONGWOOD TUESDAY AT BIG SOUTH TOURNAMENT

Top-seeded Radford opens play Tuesday at the Big South Tournament presented by Hardee's and Enterprise Rent-a-Car vs. No. 8 seeded Longwood in Game 3 of the opening day at John Henry Moss Field on the campus of Gardner-Webb University. This will be the first meeting between these two in-state rivals who did not play each other during the regular season.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
Myers was the preseason Pitcher of the Year in the Big South and ended the season earning honorable mention honors as the ace of the Longwood staff. Kryi Washington earned second-team honors and led the conference in home runs with 14. He drove in a team-high 49 runs, which was good for third in the league. Longwood has dropped five straight games entering the tournament, but owns wins during the season over Georgia, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, High Point, and Charleston Southern.

THE HIGHLANDERS
- Radford finished the regular season with an 11-game winning streak, which one game shy of the school record set earlier this season.
- With the sweep of Asheville, Radford is now 14-1 in its last 15 road games.
- Radford has won 12 straight Big South series.
- Josh Gardiner finishes the regular season with a Big South batting title (.368).
- Patrick Marshall finishes the regular season leading the Big South in RBI (54) and slugging (.615).
- Shane Johnsonbaugh finishes the regular season leading the Big South in on-base percentage (.456)
- Hunter Higgerson finishes the regular season leading the Big South in doubles (24), which is an RU school record, and is second in RBI (51) behind Marshall.
- Michael Boyle finishes the regular season tied for the Big South lead in wins (9), which is tied for the RU single-season school record.
- Ryan Meisinger finishes the regular season as the Big South saves leader (13) and owns a 52 to 6 strikeout to walk ratio.
- Daniel Bridgeman finishes the regular season with a 0.38 ERA in 21 appearances and 24.0 innings pitched.
- Radford won its first ever Big South title and set records for wins in a season (39) and conference wins in a season (20).
