RADFORD AWAITS OPPONENT IN BIG SOUTH SEMIFINAL MATCHUP

RADFORD, Va. –
After clinching its third straight Big South Regular Season Championship, Radford claimed the No. 1 seed in the Big South Men's Soccer Championship with a 7-1 conference record and 21 points following a 3-0 win over UNC Asheville Wednesday evening. As the No. 1 seed, the Highlanders earn a bye into the semifinals.
 
The Highlanders will host the winner of No. 4 Liberty and No. 5 Presbyterian on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in a 7 p.m. matchup inside Cupp Stadium. The match will be broadcasted live on the Big South Sports Network.
 
High Point finished second with a 5-1-2 conference record and 17 points to claim a bye as well.  UNC Asheville captured the No. 3 seed with a 5-3 conference mark and 15 points -- the Bulldogs' highest seed since being No. 1 in 2001.  Liberty earned the fourth seed with its 4-3-1 conference record and 13 points, and joins Asheville in hosting a quarterfinal match on Sunday.
 
Presbyterian landed fifth with an even 4-4 conference record and 12 points, and will play at Liberty.  It is the Blue Hose's best standing and seeding since joining the Big South.  Longwood rounds out the six-team field as the No. 6 seed with its 3-5 conference mark and nine points, and opens play at UNC Asheville.
 
The two quarterfinal winners will advance to next week's semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 9.  Radford will host the winner of Liberty/Presbyterian while High Point will host the winner of Longwood/UNC Asheville.  The highest remaining seed will host the title match on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m., which will be broadcasted on ESPN3.
 
The 2016 Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be played at higher seeds throughout the tournament.  The quarterfinals and semifinals will air on the Big South Network, while the final will be shown on ESPN3.  The Big South's tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. The full schedule is as follows:

Quarterfinals (Campus Sites) – Sunday, Nov. 6
Match 1: No. 5 Presbyterian College at No. 4 Liberty – 2:00pm
Match 2: No. 6 Longwood at No. 3 UNC Asheville – 4:00pm

Semifinals (Campus Sites) – Wednesday, Nov. 9
Match 3: No. 4/5 Winner at No. 1 Radford – 7:00pm
Match 4: No. 3/6 Winner at No. 2 High Point – 7:00pm

Final (Campus Site) – Sunday, Nov. 13
Match 5: Match 3 winner vs. Match 4 winner – 2:00pm
