WOMEN’S LACROSSE VISITS DELAWARE STATE FOR SATURDAY MATINEE

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team heads to Dover, Del., for Saturday's 1 p.m. opening draw with Delaware State at Alumni Stadium.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
Radford (0-2) will be in search of its first win of the season after falling to Virginia Tech, 17-2, in its last time out. Avery Reding found the back of the net for the second straight game, while Adrian Rius tallied her first collegiate goal in Wednesday's non-conference tilt.

Emma Rogers, the reigning Big South Freshman of the Week, leads the Highlanders with her five goals scored. She also paces RU in shots taken with nine. Juliette Ruland has the team's top mark in draw controls (six) and ground balls (three).

In goal, Hannah Rosen has been phenomenal in anchoring the Highlanders' defense. She racked up a season-high 16 saves against the Hokies.

SCOUTING DELAWARE STATE
The Hornets (0-3) have dropped their first three contests of the season. Their season opener was against Big South member Presbyterian. PC handed Delaware State a 20-11 setback.

DSU has yielded at least 20 goals in each of its three games this season, including a season-high 25 against Bucknell. Iman Hassan, who tallied two goals in the Hornets' last game against St. Bonaventure, has the team lead in goals (six) and shots (16).

While Hassan is the only DSU player with double-digit points (10), Kiana Dawson is a force in the midfield, securing 11 ground balls and forcing four turnovers.

Howard comes to the New River Valley for Radford's home opener Saturday, March 5. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. from Cupp Stadium.
