SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford looks to rebound from its first loss of the season when it plays host to Elon for a non-conference battle Saturday night at Cupp Stadium.
  • The Highlanders last met Elon on Nov. 4, 2015 in Elon, N.C. RU came away with a 2-0 upset win over the No. 21 Phoenix.
  • RU holds a 13-9-5 record in the all-time series.
 
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 4-1-0
  • After dropping their first match of the 2016 season, Radford fell six spots to 24th in the latest NSCAA Coaches' Week Three Poll.
  • Neil Martorana collected two goals in a 4-2 win over VCU on Sept. 9. The multi-goal match was the first by a Highlander since Oct. 23, 2015.
  • Sivert Daehlie and Martorana lead the Highlanders with two goals apiece.
  • Collecting two assists in the VCU match,
  • The Highlander defense has only allowed four goals on 19 shots on goal in 450 minutes.
  • Radford is 18-3-4 at Cupp Stadium since 2013.

SCOUTING (RV) ELON
  • Record: 4-1-1
  • The Phoenix received 11 votes in the latest NSCAA Coaches' Poll.
  • Elon captured a 2-0 win over NC State on Tuesday, joining the Highlanders with wins over the Wolfpack.
  • The only blemish on the Phoenix record came on Aug. 28 in a 2-1 loss to San Diego in the John Rennie/Nike Classic.
  • Elon drawed with the College of Charleston on Sept. 10 in a 1-1 decision.
  • In six matches, Elon has tallied 15 goals on 15 assists.
  • Elijah Agu paces the Phoenix with six goals. Agu entered the season with only one career goal.
  • Agu tallied three goals in a 6-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Sept. 2.
  • Austin Hill follows with three goals and Tuki Tayali with two.
  • Of the 15 assists, Marcel Fahrenholz has a team-high three.
  • Jaiden Fortune, Nick Adamczyk, Jack Willbye and Will Smith follow with two assists each.
  • Elon's defense has only allowed four goals on 17 shots on goal.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Highlanders will stay in-state, traveling to James Madison on Sept. 21 for a 7 p.m. matchup. Radford is 2-0 on the Dukes' field as a part of the JMU Invitational.
