SERIES HISTORY
  • The Highlanders have found a lot of success against the Blue Hose and currently hold a 7-2-1 (.750) advantage in the overall series history
  • The first meeting between the two sides came on November 4th, 2007 when Presbyterian came away with a 2-0 victory
  • Most recently, Radford earned a 2-0 victory of their own over Presbyterian on October 15th, 2016

SETTING THE STAGE
  • Saturday's showdown is extremely important for the Highlanders, who have lost five straight and six of their last seven games
  • Radford and Presbyterian are tied for last in the Big South, but both teams are only one game back from a spot in the Big South Tournament which takes eight of the 10 teams in the league
  • Radford's five seniors - Gabby Brannon, Maddie Malueg, Katie McCormick, Cassidy Ratliff and McKensey Ziegler - will be honored prior to the game with a brief ceremony

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 8-6-0 (1-5-0 BSC) | RPI: 212
  • Radford enters the contest with a 4-2-0 record at Cupp Stadium in 2017
  • 23 of 28 players on the Radford women's soccer roster have now seen game action during the 2017 season
  • Despite tough treading in the offensive third as of late, the Highlanders still rank first in the Big South in assists (27) and second in the Big South in shots (210), points (87) and goals (30)
  • Freshman Lexi Dean, sophomore Courtenay Kaplan and senior Katie McCormick have combined to give Radford 80 saves in goal, good for second in the Big South
  • Radford has been called for offsides only 10 times in 14 games, the least of any squad in the conference
  • Sophomore defender Allyson Giannone ranks first in the Big South and second in the nation with 10 assists this season. Only Minnesota's April Bockin, with 11, has more
  • Junior forward Jessica Wollmann ranks second in the Big South with three game-winning goals

SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
  • Record: 3-10-0 (1-5-0 BSC) | RPI: 287
  • Although the Presbyterian offense hasn't been particularly effective, it has been efficient. They are last in the Big South in shots with 123, but rank sixth is points (39) and goals (15)
  • The Highlanders should be able to exploit the Presbyterian defense, which has given up the most goals in the conference at 31 through 13 games
  • Senior midfielder Frances Whitesides leads PC in points with nine thanks to a team-leading three goals and three assists
  • Freshman defender Kristen Bane is tied with Whitesides for the team lead in goals with three of her own
  • Like the Highlanders, playing time in goal has been split between three players. Sophomore Abby Jones leads the pack with 646 minutes played, but sophomore Alyssa Leaman is tops with 34 saves and one shutout

UP NEXT
  • Following Saturday's match vs. Presbyterian, the Highlanders will have one final home game left in the season
  • That game comes on Wednesday, October 18th when Radford welcomes UNC Asheville for a 7 p.m. start
  • The Bulldogs enter this weekend with a 2-3 record in conference play and a 6-7-1 mark overall
