RADFORD HEADS TO PRESBYTERIAN FOR WEDNESDAY BATTLE

SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford enters a stretch where it will play five of its next eight matches on the road, including three in conference play.
  • The Highlanders are 7-2-1 in their last 10 Big South road matchups.
  • A season ago, the two foes met twice in the season, both coming as overtime affairs. The first matchup on Oct. 8, 2016 saw a Roberts goal in overtime give Radford a 1-0 victory. In the Big South Tournament semifinals, Radford and Presbyterian went into penalty kicks locked at 1-1. The Highlanders advanced 4-2 on PKs.
  • Radford collected a 2-0 victory on Sept. 26, 2015 in the last matchup in Clinton.
  • In the all-time series, Radford holds a 34-11-4 edge.

  • Radford is currently on a four-match winning streak and a six-match unbeaten streak.

  • The Highlander offense has scored four-plus goals four different times on the season and currently rank sixth in the country with 23 goals scored.
  • Averaging 2.56 goals per match, Radford's mark is fourth best in the nation as well as its 7.56 points per game clip.
  • In the Highlanders' lone match on the week, Radford defeated UNC Asheville in its conference home opener as Kieran Roberts highlighted the match with his second career hat trick, while Evan Szklennik matched a program record with four assists.
  • Earning his second Big South Attacking Player of the Week honor, Roberts is now tied for the nation's lead in goals with 11. Roberts also leads the nation with a 1.22 goals per game mark, registering three multi-goal matches on the season.
  • In addition, Roberts leads the country with 5.78 shots per game and ranks second with 3.00 shots on goal per contest. Tallying 22 points on the year, which ranks third nationally, Roberts's 2.44 points per game is second best.
  • Collecting four assists in the win, Szklennik now has at least five assists on the season for the third straight year. His 21 career assists rank fifth in program history.
  • Assisting on six goals, Szklennik is ninth in the country.
  • Szklennik matched a program record with the four assists set by Dante Washington against Augusta on Oct. 15, 1988.
  • Scoring a goal for the sixth straight match, Sivert Daehlie moves within two goals of ninth all-time in program history with 25 career goals.
  • Daehlie now has seven goals on the season, ranking 10th in the country. Assisting on three goals, Daehlie is 11th in the nation with 17 points.
  • With 22 total assists, Radford is ninth in the country, while eight different players have assisted on a goal.
  • Seven different players have tallied two-plus assists on the season.
  • Conceding only nine goals on the season, Radford ranks 50th with a .976 goals against average.
  • Nicolas Mertzokat has racked up 23 saves on the season with a .719 save percentage.
  • Mertzokat is one shutout away from ranking tied for 10th in program history.
 
SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
  • Record: 3-5-1 (1-1-0)
  • Presbyterian has counted heavily on a slew of freshmen to start the season as through nine games, seven of the Blue Hose 10 goals and four of the seven assists have come via a frosh.
  • Clement Vannier leads the team with three goals, while Sergio Pinto follows with two, both coming as game winners.
  • Five different Blue Hose follow with one goal apiece.
  • Adrian Edo Martin is the team's leader with two assists.
  • The Blue Hose average 1.11 goals per game, while conceding 1.33 per match.
  • Presbyterian is fourth in the league in goals allowed (12) and fifth in goals against (1.30).
