HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Record: 8-4-0 (1-3-0 BSC)
- The Highlanders have suffered back-to-back overtime losses for the first time since almost one year ago to the day when they dropped consecutive overtime matches to Gardner-Webb and Campbell
- While facing Gardner-Webb, the series has always been tight as the winning team has only won by more than one goal twice (Radford did it in 2005 winning 3-1, and Gardner-Webb did it in 2014 winning 2-0)
- So far this year, the Highlanders boast a 4-1 home record against their visiting opponents, outscoring those five teams 16-4
- With nine assists, sophomore defender Allyson Giannone entered the week with more assists on her own than 87 division I teams
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULL DOGS
- Record: 2-9-1 (0-2-1 BSC)
- Gardner-Webb is still searching for their first conference win of the season as they head to Radford
- The Runnin' Bulldogs have three common opponents with the Highlanders. Both teams beat ETSU and lost to Liberty, but the Highlanders were victorious against Winthrop while the 'Dogs lost
- Junior Samuelle Grove leads the team in goals (3) and shots (25), while tied for the lead in assists (1) and games started (12). One of those goals was a game-winner
- Junior Keely Brown has 20 saves in conference play so far this year, protecting a busy net
HOMECOMING WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
- Radford women's soccer alumna Susan Lubic (1998-2001) will serve as an honorary coach alongside Head Coach Ben Sohrabi and Assistant Coach Chris Barrett
- There will be a halftime recognition of the women's soccer alumni back at Radford for homecoming weekend
UP NEXT
- Following the Gardner-Webb match, the Highlanders will hit the road and turn their attention to the Longwood Lancers the following Wednesday
- Longwood is in the middle of the hunt for the regular season crown, and a good test for a Radford team looking to punch in a great second half of conference play
