SPARTANBURG, S.C. – An unrelenting attack led by two goals apiece from juniors Jessica Wollmann and Jasmine Casarez, the Radford women's soccer team scored early and often en route to a 6-3 victory over Wofford at Snyder Field on Friday night.

With the win, the Highlanders improve to 4-0-0 and continue their longest unbeaten run to begin a season since starting the 2013 campaign with a 4-0-1 record. The Terriers fall to 0-4-0.

Wollmann got the scoring started a mere one minute and eight seconds into the match. Sophomore Nelia Perez made one of her now-signature runs down the right wing and sent a cross into the box where Wollmann hit it first time and slotted home her second goal of the season.

The Terriers managed to level the match in the 21st minute, however. Emma Fletcher took a shot from outside the 18-yard box which was met with a strong save from freshman goalkeeper Lexi Dean, but she parried the ball into the path of Eva Dailey who scored on the rebound.

It was then that the Highlanders kicked the game into a new gear and went on a tear that would make even the neutral spectator stand up and cheer.

In the 24th minute, Radford drew a foul just outside of the box and freshman Gabi Paupst steered a free kick into the left corner to put the Highlanders back in front for good. Two minutes later, junior Jasmine Casarez doubled the lead with an easy header right in front of goal thanks to Perez's second assist on a cross from the right side on the night.

The Terriers survived the rest of the first half, but the calm didn't last long into the second half. In the 49th minute, Wollmann collected a throw in before turning, dribbling once and firing a rocket the went over the keeper and under the crossbar for a 4-1 lead.

Casarez was able to finish off another assist into the 6-yard box in the 50th minute when Wollmann got into a giving mood and capped her strong run down the right side with a cross.

The Highlanders scored their sixth and final goal in the 58th minute when Wollmann added her second assist of the game by finding Perez for a goal.

Wofford found the back of the net twice in the second half – once in the 50th minute and once in the 62nd minute – as their top threat Hayley Younginer continued her strong start to the season, but it wasn't enough.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Despite three goals conceded, Dean had a very strong night between the sticks with nine saves including six in the first 20 minutes of the match
  • The Highlanders were brutally efficient with their shots as they only needed seven shots on goal and 11 shots total to score six goals
  • Wofford tallied 10 corner kicks including eight in the second half alone
  • With three goals through four games, Wollmann has tied her single-season career high and is only two more away from matching her total from the last two seasons combined
  • Perez now has four assists in 2017, joining sophomore defender Allyson Giannone for the team lead
  • Radford conceded its first penalty kick of the season with a foul in the box at the 61:04 mark
  • The Highlanders had only four foul calls against them against Wofford after collecting 31 fouls in three games beforehand

QUOTABLE
"It was a wild game tonight, but we will take wins however we can get them on the road. I was proud of our intensity and we scored some beautiful goals. We are a young team and still have a lot to prove." – Head Coach Ben Sohrabi
