WOMEN'S SOCCER LOOKS TO STAY PERFECT AGAINST ETSU

  • Opponent: East Tennessee State (ETSU) Bucs
  • Date: Tuesday, Sept. 5th at 7 p.m.

SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford is 5-10-2 all-time against ETSU with the first match in the series taking place on August 30, 1997 and the most recent happening on August 23, 2016
  • If the Highlanders defeat the Bucs they will have won five matches before losing a game to start the season for the first time since 2008. In that season, Radford began 7-0-3 and went on to win the Big South and reach the NCAA Tournament
  • ETSU will be the third Southern Conference opponent on the schedule this season following Chattanooga and Wofford
  • The Highlanders offense is flying high, scoring 14 goals through four games after netting only 19 goals through 16 games in 2016
 
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 4-0-0 (0-0-0 Big South)
  • The Highlanders are the last undefeated team remaining in the Big South Conference as of Sept. 4th
  • Campbell and Radford are tied atop the Big South in goals scored with 14 each, but the Highlanders' 13 assists are five more than the next closest team (Campbell, 8)
  • Radford enters Tuesday's contest coming off of a 6-3 victory at Wofford this past Friday night. The Highlanders went on a scoring tear with two goals each from Jessica Wollmann and Jasmine Casarez, one goal from Nelia Perez and one goal from Gabi Paupst
  • Paupst, Wollmann and Casarez are now tied for the team lead in goals with three each
  • Nelia Perez tallied two more assists against Wofford to match Allyson Giannone's team lead on the season of four
 
SCOUTING THE BUCS
  • Record: 2-2-0 (0-0-0 SoCon)
  • The Bucs' 2-0 win over Davidson on August 28th was the 4th career shutout for junior GK Lea Ann Cutshall, moving her to alone in 5th on ETSU's all-time list
  • Junior F Elenora Goldoni scored both goals on the
  • Junior D Pauline Vienne scored four goals in ETSU's first two matches, including three in their season-opening 8-0 win over South Carolina State on August 18th. She also tallied the Bucs' only goal at Tennessee on August 24th
  • ETSU's match at Radford will be the Bucs' first after a nine-day break in the schedule

UP NEXT
  • Following the ETSU game, Radford will begin a three-game road trip at Mount St. Mary's on Friday, Sept. 8th
  • The game is scheduled to take place at Waldron Family Stadium in Emmittsburg, Maryland at 7 p.m.
  • The Mount will enter the contest at 3-3-0 on the season after falling, 2-0, to Temple on Sunday
