CAMPBELL-RADFORD TO BE FEATURED ON ESPNU, FEB. 15

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Radford men's basketball along with the Dedmon Center will be featured on national television for a second time this season with ESPNU selecting the Campbell at Radford contest scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15 as its Big South Wildcard Selection broadcast. Game time is set for 9 p.m. inside the Dedmon Center with Matt Schick (play-by-play) and Paul Biancardi (analyst) on the call from courtside.

ESPNU will also be here in the New River Valley on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. when the Highlanders host Gardner-Webb, marking the first time a Big South school has welcomed the worldwide leader in sports to its arena twice in one season since UNC Asheville in 2014-15. Radford has now played on ESPNU in five straight seasons including a bout with Campbell in 2017.

Highlander fans will be treated to a clash between two of the league's top teams. The Highlanders currently sit atop the Big South standings alone with a 7-2 record while the Fighting Camels are just behind in a three-way tie at 6-3.

Campbell has Radford's number as of late, winning eight of the last 12 meetings, including the last four matchups. Junior guard Chris Clemons lifted the Fighting Camels to a 59-56 win over the Highlanders with a buzzer-beating, game-winning 3-pointer on Jan. 21. However, Radford leads the all-time series, 21-8.

Clemons has been sensational this season and ranks third in the nation with 25.2 points per game. The reigning Big South Player of the Year finished second in the nation in scoring last season and was selected as the 2017-18 Big South Preseason Player of the Year. Clemons alongside sophomore Marcus Burk, became the first pair of teammates in NCAA history to each make 10 3-pointers in a single game on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll, Radford has beaten all expectations so far this season thanks in large part to junior forward Ed Polite Jr. and redshirt freshman guard Carlik Jones. In conference play, Polite Jr. ranks top-10 in scoring (16.2 ppg), field goal percentage (.567), rebounding (9.0 rpg) and steals (2.1 spg) while Jones continues a stellar debut season in which he's garnered a program record six Big South Freshman of the Week awards.

The Gardner-Webb at Radford game is the second of four Big South ESPNU Wildcard broadcasts this season while Campbell at Radford is the third. ESPNU has one final Wildcard broadcast scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., which will be determined as early as 21 days in advance.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at radfordtickets.com or by calling the Radford Athletics ticket office at (540) 831-7889. Remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the ticket office inside the Dedmon Center on game day.

Radford University students will be admitted free of charge as normal. A game day shuttle to the Dedmon Center will be available to all fans starting one hour prior to tip-off and will run through 30 minutes after the conclusion of the contest. For more information, click here.
