RADFORD WELCOMES CHARLESTON SOUTHERN FOR REGULAR SEASON FINALE



RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team welcomes Charleston Southern to Cupp Stadium on Tuesday at 4 p.m., for its final regular season match of the year. The match was originally scheduled for September 15, but was postponed due to weather conditions from Hurricane Florence.

Radford holds an impressive 19-7-5 record over Charleston Southern.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
The Highlanders currently have a seven-game win streak and during that stretch have out-scored Big South foes, 18-5. Jasmine Casarez leads the team with nine goals this year, while Jessica Wollmann is right behind her with eight. Casarez paces the squad with 22 points, as she has four assists this year. Nelia Perez has nine total assists this year, which also includes a three-assist match versus USC Upstate. With her nine assists Perez is currently tied for ninth in NCAA Division I. Defensively, Courtenay Kaplan has logged 1,024 minutes in the net and has picked up 55 saves. The junior has a 1.14 goals against average and her .809 save percentage is the best of any season in her career.
 
NATIONAL RECOGNITION (as of 10/18)
As a team, the Highlanders are ninth in the country averaging 2.5 goals per game and 14th in points per game averaging seven. Individually, Wollmann's team-leading four game-winning goals currently ranks 23rd among all individuals in NCAA Soccer. The senior also ranks 21st in the country with 2.21 shots on goal per game. Casarez's 5.5 shots per game have her ranked fourth in the country.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Highlanders claimed the top seed in the Big South Championships and its first regular season title since 2013 with a 3-0 win at UNC Asheville on Saturday. Casarez racked up three points with one goal and one assist.
 
ABOUT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Charleston Southern is currently surfing a four-game win streak and is outscoring its opponents 7-1 over that stretch. They now sit at fourth in the conference with a 5-3-1 record (9-4-2 overall). Opponents have had a hard time scoring against them so far, as they lead the Big South with an average of just one goal allowed per game. Jazmin Gonzalez has been a wall in front of the net with 63 saves and a .863 save percentage, which is second best in the conference. The Buccaneers don't have any high-scoring players, but freshman Riley Rumbley is tied for most on the team with three.
 
ON THE HORIZON
With the top seed in the Big South Tournament, Radford will host a quarterfinal matchup in the Big South Championships. The Highlanders will take on the eighth seed on Saturday at 7 p.m., inside Cupp Stadium.
