REGULAR SEASON COMES TO AN END AT LONGWOOD SATURDAY

SETTING THE STAGE
  • The Highlanders are riding a three-game win streak and will look to make it four against Longwood in the final game of the regular season
  • Radford has secured a top-3 spot in the Big South Tournament, but could jump up into a tie for second with a win and a Winthrop loss against Charleston Southern
  • The Lancers are on an 11-game losing streak, failing to record a win since falling to Radford back on Jan. 18
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Radford and Longwood have met 27 times previously with the Highlanders taking a 20-7 lead in the series
  • The Highlanders are 7-4 against the Lancers since they joined the Big South six seasons ago
  • Last season, Radford took both contests against Longwood by tallies of 72-60 and 79-62. When the teams met back on Jan. 18 this season, the Highlanders earned a 70-63 victory

  • The team's three-game win streak is its second of the season. A six-game win streak between Dec. 22 and Jan. 9 was the team's longest this year

SCOUTING THE LANCERS

  • Head Coach Jayson Gee is in his fifth season at the helm of the Longwood men's basketball program. He has accumulated a record of 41-118 in that time and is 2-7 against Radford
  • Longwood was picked to finish ninth in the Big South preseason poll
  • The Lancers had won three of their last four games when they played Radford for the first time this season. They have dropped 11 straight games since
  • They have lost by an average of 13.5 points per game during their losing streak
  • Five of Longwood's six wins this season have come at home
  • Junior guard Isaiah Walton leads the Lancers and ranks sixth in the Big South with 16.7 points per game
  • B.K. Ashe is the second-leading scorer on Longwood with 13.0 points per game. He leads the squad with 74 assists this season
  • Senior big man Damarion Geter has been a force on the glass this season, ranking fourth in the conference with 7.3 rebounds per game
  • In the Big South, Longwood comes in last in scoring offense, scoring defense, scoring margin, free throw percentage, field goal percentage, rebounding defense, assists and turnover margin
  • The Lancers have averaged 1,176 fans per game in Willett Hall this season, creating a strong home court advantage
