RADFORD TO HOST BSC CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY AT 1 PM

RADFORD, Va. – The 2018 Big South Men's Basketball Championship game is coming to the New River Valley on Sunday as the Highlanders will host in-state rival Liberty at 1 p.m., inside the Dedmon Center for a chance to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

The second-seeded Highlanders ended their semifinal matchup against No. 3 Winthrop on a 15-2 run, advancing to their first title game since 2009 with a 61-52 comeback victory over the Eagles.

Winners of six straight, Radford will face fifth-seeded Liberty, who upset top seeded UNC Asheville on Saturday by the score of 69-64.

The Highlanders and Flames will meet in the championship game for the first time in Big South history. The last All-Commonwealth championship game came in that same 2009 season as Radford defeated VMI 108-94 for its second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. That game was also the last time Radford hosted the Big South Championship game.
