SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford has earned a spot in the Big South Tournament for the second straight year
  • A win would give the young program its first postseason win and cross a huge milestone off the list
  • A victory over Campbell would also give Radford seven wins on the year, setting a new program record
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Radford is 0-3 through three meetings with Campbell
  • The last two meetings, including one earlier this season, were close games ending with scores of 11-9 and 17-12
  • In the Highlanders' and Camels' clash on April 14, Juliette Ruland led the team with four goals while Adrian Rius (3) and Lindsey Carroll (2) each added multiple goals of their own
 
BIG SOUTH TOURNAMENT HISTORY
  • The Highlanders made the Big South Tournament for the first time in 2017, their second ever season competing in the conference
  • They fell, 20-10, to No. 3 Winthrop in the quarterfinals
  • There were several positive takeaways for Radford in that game, including a 26-24 advantage in ground balls, an 18-for-20 clip on clear attempts, limiting turnovers to 14 while Winthrop committed 18 turnovers, and 23 shots on goal

  • Radford was picked to finish fifth in the Big South Preseason Poll and that's exactly where they ended up by the regular season's end
  • The Highlanders have already won a program-record four games on the road this season. They'll aim to make it five on Saturday
  • Junior midfielder Callie Bonnel became the second player in program history to make the All-Big South First Team
  • Junior midfielder Juliette Ruland earned a spot on the All-Big South Second Team and sophomore goalie Jenny Davis was named to the All-Academic Team
  • The Highlanders are coming off a 21-4 drubbing of Presbyterian College, giving the team plenty of confidence heading into the postseason
  • Sophomore attacker Lindsey Carroll has exactly 50 goals and 50 assists in her career thanks to a career-high 26 goals this season
  • Redshirt sophomore midfielder Brittany Rinaldi has contributed all over the field in her first season as a Highlander, tallying 14 goals, 35 ground balls, 44 draw controls and 22 caused turnovers
  • Radford has placed exactly 75% (345-460) of its shots on goal this season
 
SCOUTING THE CAMELS
  • Record: 8-9 (4-3 Big South) | RPI: 72
  • Campbell tied with Winthrop for second place in the Big South Preseason Poll, but they ended up taking fourth
  • Junior attacker Melissa Placek, senior defender Megan Reilly and sophomore midfielder Sam Carey each made the All-Big South First Team
  • Senior attacker Kayla Reilly earned a spot on the All-Big South Second Team while junior defender Amanda Chasin was Honorable Mention.
  • Senior attacker Mackenzie Koeller was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year after excelling both on the field and in the classroom
  • The Camels are 5-4 playing in Barker-Lane Stadium this season
  • One of Campbell's biggest strengths is in draw controls where the team leads the Big South with 14.59 per game
  • The Camels have only scored 24 free position goals this season. Opponents have scored 62 while Radford's Callie Bonnel has 23 all by herself – for comparison
  • As a team, the Camels have assisted on 104 of 217 goals this season (48%)
  • Goalkeeping has been an issue for Campbell as goalies Sydney Etheridge and Kylie Haarhoff have combined to allow 12.89 goals per game with a .380 save percentage
