RADFORD HEADS TO LONGWOOD FOR BIG SOUTH WEEKEND SERIES

  • After dropping its last five home games, Radford will hit the road as the Highlanders look to get back to their winning ways with six of their 10 wins coming on the road.
  • During the five-game stretch, Radford has been outscored 47-27, while outhit 53-44.
  • The Highlanders outhit Appalachian State on Tuesday and ETSU on Wednesday as Radford fell to 8-3 when outhitting opposing teams on the season.

  • Radford's lone run in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to Appalachian State came off the bat of Matt Roth as the junior is now tied with Szamski and Horwitz with a team best four home runs.
  • Roth had multi-hit games in both midweeks, totaling eight on the season.
  • In his last 83 games played, Kyle Butler has 35 multi-hit games, including a team best 11 in 2018.
  • Butler picked up his fifth multi-RBI game on Wednesday night with a 2 for 4 night and two RBIs. He is tied with Szamski for lead in multi-RBI games.
  • The redshirt junior owns a 14-game on-base streak. The 2017 season saw Butler put together a 20-game streak.

  • Dripping its first five midweek contests, Longwood picked up its first win on Wednesday night with a 13-10 slugfest win over George Mason.
  • The win was the Lancers second time scoring double-digit runs on the year.
  • Longwood ranks ninth with 104 runs scored and have allowed 215 runs.
  • With a team batting average of .224, Sammy Miller is the only Lancer hitting over .300 with a .303 clip.
  • He leads the team with 30 hits, while driving in 10 of his own.
  • Justin Mitchell leads the squad with 17 RBIs as four Lancers have double-digit RBIs.
  • Longwood has only 47 extra-base hits on the season with a Big South low seven home runs.
  • The Lancers are 37 for 49 on the base paths as Antwaun Tucker is 11 for 13 on the bases, ranking sixth in the league.
  • Opposing teams are 47 for 53 on the bases, third most allowed in the league.
  • Possessing a team ERA of 7.33, Longwood is last in the Big South.

  • Radford and Virginia have only met two times since 2013 as Mother Nature had other plans for the in-state matchup.
  • During that span, the series is split with Radford winning 9-8 in 2013 and Virginia taking a 11-3 victory in 2016.
