RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team is back in action hosting its final exhibition match against Concord on Sunday at 7 p.m., inside Cupp Stadium.

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team is back in action hosting its final exhibition match against Concord on Sunday at 7 p.m., inside Cupp Stadium.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Radford fell to James Madison, 1-0, on Thursday in its first competition of the 2018 season.
- Defensively, Lexi Dean came up with three saves in the exhibition match and on the offensive end, Jasmine Casarez tallied three of Radford's five shots.
- The Highlanders were picked to finish fourth in the Big South Preseason Polls, which were announced on Monday.
- Radford received the second-most first place votes among all 11 teams, tallying two.
- The 2018 team features 17 letterwinners returning, which includes eight starters.
- Along with 17 returning players are 10 newcomers from three different states and two different countries.
- The dynamic duo of Jessica Wollmann and Casarez are back for their senior seasons. During the 2017 season, the pair combined for 18 goals and nine assists. Casarez was the first Highlander to score double-digit goals since 2008, scoring 11.
SCOUTING CONCORD
- Concord, a Division II member of the NCAA, competes in the Mountain East Conference.
- The Mountain Lions went 10-8-1 last season and made an appearance the Mountain East Conference Tournament.
- The 2017 squad took over 15 shots per game and outscored their opponents 34-25. Sarah Hill and Pilar Elias scored 14 of the 34 goals as each of them had seven goals.
- Elias tallied four assists and Hill added two. Both are returning for the 2018 season.
UP NEXT
- The Highlanders will open the regular season on Thursday against Saint Francis (Pa.), an NCAA Tournament team last season, at Cupp Stadium under the lights at 7 p.m.
