ABOUT THE MATCH-UP
In a series dating back to 1984, the Highlanders own an all-time record of 16-14-3 against Big South-foe Campbell. Radford took care of business last season, earning a 5-1 victory on the road despite conceding the opening goal. Five different goalscorers contributed to the win including current Highlanders Kieran Roberts, Myles Yorke and Jakob Strandsäter.

LAST TIME OUT
Radford played its best game of the season at James Madison on Saturday, finally finding the back of the net in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, the Dukes hit back with three unanswered goals of their own to earn the win. Freshman Amadou Macky Diop scored the header goal off an assist from Max-Emilios Angelides. The Highlanders outpaced JMU in shots (10-9), saves (5-3) and corner kicks (8-2) so there were plenty of positive takeaways from the contest.

SEASON-OPENING GOALSCORER
Over the last nine years dating back to 2010, Radford has had a different player score the team's first goal of the season each season. Macky Diop (2018) joins Sivert Daehlie (2017), Garland Smith (2016), Finn Tiedemann (2015), Mauricio Rancel (2014), Bernardo Ulmo (2013), Lucas Diniz (2012), Lucas Grande (2011) and Brian Gwanzura (2010).

PRESEASON CO-ATTACKING PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Saturday's showdown will feature two of the top scoring threats in the nation. Radford redshirt senior Kieran Roberts and Campbell senior JJ Donnelly were named Preseason Co-Attacking Players of the Year after Roberts netted 15 goals and Donnelly scored 13 of his own in 2017. The duo was also featured on TopDrawerSoccer's preseason Top-100 Player Rankings with Donnelly coming in at 58 and Roberts at 90.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell began its 2018 campaign on the wrong foot, dropping a 2-1 decision to UIC before losing 4-0 to SMU to go to 0-2 on the year. Since then, however, the Camels have won four straight with an incredible goal differential of 19-3 in those games. The Big South preseason poll pegged them to finish third in the conference, but they did receive one first-place vote. Eleven different players have scored on the season with seven scoring multiple and JJ Donnelly leading the way with three. Sophomore Samuel Lechuga has been strong in goal with 16 saves and a .762 save percentage that includes two shutouts.
