JACOB WILKINSON SELECTED TO COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

RADFORD, Va. – Radford men's soccer defender Jacob Wilkinson has been selected to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.

Wilkinson, a redshirt junior from Frederick, Maryland, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 as a finance major. On the pitch, he has set career highs across the board, making 10 starts and appearing in 11 contests for a total of 897 minutes. Wilkinson also has four shots this season and has helped anchor a backline that advanced to the Big South Tournament. Wilkinson was a first-team Academic All Dirstrict selection for District 3, which consists of schools in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

"Jacob has played a massive part of this program's success throughout his time here. He has embodied everything a student-athlete should be, while excelling on and off the field," Highlander head coach Bryheem Hancock said. "It is a great award for Jacob because not only does it prove that he has helped get this program to where it is today, but has exceled in the classroom and will receive an outstanding degree from Radford as a part of it."

The 2019 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District, which Wilkinson earned, will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
