BEATRIZ MOSQUERA QUINTAS EARNS SECOND BIG SOUTH GOL:FER OF THE WEEK AWARD OF THE SPRING

Charlotte, N.C. - Radford freshman Beatriz Mosquera Quintas was named the Big South Player of the Week for the second time this spring after nearly winning her second individual title this month.

Mosquera Quintas captured the runner-up trophy this past Tuesday at the two-day French Broad Collegiate Invitational, which was held at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a par 71, 5,897-yard course.

The native of La Coruna, Spain carded a team-best 145 (+3, 73-72), just two strokes behind champion Bianca Porta (South Carolina Beaufort), who recorded a 143 (+1, 73-72).

Just two weeks earlier, Mosquera Quintas won the Benbow Invitational, which was held at Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

"Bea had another outstanding week, especially off the tee," said Highlander head coach Jeff Beeler. "This was a very demanding golf course that required precise shots into the greens.

"She's an extremely hard worker that has deserved every accolade that has come her way," he added.

The Highlanders will conclude their season at the 2019 Big South Championships, which will take place Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14. The event will take place at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, South Carolina.
