Women’s Golf Earns WGCA Division I Top 25 GPA Ranking

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced the top 25 team GPAs for the 2024-25 academic year earlier this week which included the Radford Women's Golf program placing 21st with their impressive 3.86 GPA.
 
The lone Big South school on the rankings list, the women's golf program continues to showcase excellence in all facets of student-athlete life. The ranking is the first in program history for the Highlanders who are also coming off their first-ever Big South Championship and NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
Each Highlander on the program including Grace Addison, Lillian Aune, Caroline Gilreath, Macy Johnson, Hannah Lindemann, Kaitlyn Mosdell, Shea Smith, and Mckenzie Weddle achieved at least a 3.50 GPA or better. The team took home the Academic Excellence Award at the most recent RUBYS, the athletic department's end-of-year awards banquet. Johnson made her mark on the 24-25 campaign as well by earning the Big South Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year award, the fourth Highlander to ever earn the award and first since 2014.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
