Smith Ties Program Record Highlighting Action at Edisto Island Invitational

EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. – The Radford women's golf program concluded the Fall portion of their campaign this week at the Edisto Island Invitational, vaulting into a seventh-place finish thanks to an incredible final round showing led by Shea Smith's 5-under performance that tied the program record shared by current teammate Macy Johnson.

Battling tough weather conditions all week, the Highlanders made sure to end things on a high note and that came especially from Smith. Soaring 26 spots up the individual leaderboard in the third round alone, Smith put forth a 5-under showing thanks to an incredible seven birdies over the final nine holes. The mark ties her with teammate Johnson for the program record.

Caroline Gilreath also had a solid showing with a consistent performance that netted her a top-25 individual placement. Her final round also propelled her up the individual leaderboard, finishing at 1-over with four birdies.

Coming right behind Gilreath was Grace Addison, who had a consistent performance in each round to finish 36th overall. Rounding out Radford's scoring team members were Macy Johnson (T-43rd) and Mckenzie Weddle (T-51st).

With the Fall schedule now completed, Radford will look to continue the long road towards the eventual Big South Championship next spring. The Highlanders will open 2026 on February 9th through 10th at the Oyster Shuck Match Play at the Charleston Municipal Golf Course.
