Weddle Earns Individual Title as Highlanders Take Runner-Up at the Elon Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Radford women's golf program made a great first impression to their 2025-26 campaign this week at the Elon Invitational highlighted by Mckenzie Weddle's individual title and the team's runner-up finish.

Weddle led the Highlanders' efforts and placed first among the 78 student-athletes competing this week. Weddle started strong in her first round opening with a 3-under par that put her ahead in the pack. Weddle would then turn in solid second round (-1) and third round (+1) performances to defend her top spot finishing 3-under par overall. The individual title is the first in Weddle's Radford career.

Shea Smith would bounce back in the second and third rounds as she turned in the next top performance for the Highlanders placing tied for 16th overall. Smith's best round of the tournament came in round two as she shot 2-under par. Tied at 16th with Smith was Caroline Gilreath and Macy Johnson. Gilreath turned in a solid tournament going 1-over par in the first and second rounds while Johnson also bounced back for a great final round on Tuesday playing even.

Rounding out the Highlanders' top performers was Grace Addison who placed 43rd and finished the tournament at 10-over. Hannah Lindemann also got her first action of the Fall competing individually.
