RADFORD POSTS DOUBLE OVERTIME DRAW VERSUS COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON

BOX SCORE SPARTANBURG, S.C.—The Radford men's soccer team played in their first double overtime game, in addition to tallying their first draw of the 2019 season in a neutral site game against the College of Charleston. This defensive matchup concluded with neither team being able to get past the other's tight protection around the goal.

College of Charleston threatened in the 30th minute but goalkeeper Joseba Incera pulled off a crucial save to stop any scoring attempt by the Cougars.

The Highlanders opened the second period with a shot on goal by Thiam forcing opposing goalkeeper Issac Alstrom to make an athletic save, preventing a would-be Radford goal.

Rallying behind keeper Incera, the Highlanders saved three attempted goals as well as a penalty kick in the 84th minute. Set up to take the lead over Radford, the College of Charleston's Tucker Heffron sent an offering up but missed. The rebounded ball was picked up by fellow Cougar Mads Myllerup who tried to score the game's first goal but was thwarted by Incera and the Highlander defense.
