AMADOU MACKY DIOP NAMED BIG SOUTH ATTACKING PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For his stellar play last week, Amadou Macky Diop was named Big South Attacking Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

The sophomore sparked the improbable comeback against UNCG last Monday night and carried the team to a 4-3 victory over the Spartans in overtime. Diop scored the first goal for the Highlanders in the 65^th minute. He didn't stop scoring until the 95^th minute when he netted the golden goal for Radford. It was his third score of the match, which gave him the hat trick.

It was the first hat trick for any Highlander since Oct. 14, 2017. Along with Diop's three goals were nine shots – both career-highs. The sophomore has accounted for four of the team's five goals. He has four goals on 17 shots, totaling eight points on the young season. Over half of his shots have landed on frame.

The Highlanders will return to Cupp Stadium on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m., matchup against NJIT.
