RADFORD, Va. – Despite a game-high 13 kills from outside hitter Hailey Flowers, the Radford Volleyball team fell on the road to Presbyterian 3-0 in Big South conference action Friday evening in Clinton.
The first set was tightly contested, as Radford jumped out to an early 7-2 lead. But the Blue Hose mounted a comeback, taking the set 25-23 despite five service errors.
Presbyterian dominated the second set 25-9, but the Highlanders rebounded in the third set, besting the Blue Hose 25-23 thanks in large part to Flowers' three kills and a service ace by senior defensive specialist Brenna Ankrum, part of a 7-0 Highlander run.
The comeback attempt was short lived, as Presbyterian took the fourth set 25-17 to clinch the victory.
