Women’s Soccer Releases 2021 Fall Schedule

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer program announced its full schedule for the 2021 fall season this afternoon, lining up nine challenging non-conference games and ten total home games.

The team will start the year with two exhibition matches before opening regular season play. Radford will travel to American (Aug. 12) and then return home for a match with Concord (Aug. 15). From there, the Highlanders kick off the regular season in Cupp Stadium against Mount St. Mary's (Aug. 19). The Highlanders and Mountaineers last met in 2019 where the Highlanders netted two first-half goals to win their first road game of the season.

Radford will make its first road trip of the season to face Wofford (Aug. 27), a team the Highlanders also played and defeated on the road in 2019. A pair of home matches await the Highlanders after the lone road match, as the team will host ETSU (Sept. 2) and Delaware State (Sept. 4). Radford has dominated Delaware State in years past, but the all-time series against ETSU is closer with a Buccaneer edge in the 7-10-2 margin.

Road visits to Marshall (Sept. 9) and George Mason (Sept. 12) will finish Radford's road portion of the non-conference season. A home match against VMI (Sept. 16), a team the Highlanders have had loads of success against in the past leading the all-time series 15-1, will wrap up the non-conference slate.

The Highlanders' conference schedule is front-loaded with road matches as three of the first four come on the road. Radford won't have to travel far for their first Big South contest against Longwood (Sept. 22), a match-up of two top-four seeds in this past season's Big South tournament. The competition doesn't let up as the team travels to reigning Big South champion Campbell (Sept. 25) to close out the road trip.

Radford will get its first home contest against Big South competition against Gardner-Webb (Sept. 29). The Highlanders have had some success against the Runnin' Bulldogs as of late, winning four times and tying once over the last five matches.

Radford will hit the road once again to open up October and play USC Upstate (Oct. 2) who they own a perfect 7-0 all-time record against. A pair of home matches await the Highlanders the week after that as they will host UNC Asheville (Oct. 6) and Winthrop (Oct. 9). Radford will then hit the road to play High Point (Oct. 13) before returning home for a pair of games slated against Presbyterian (Oct. 16) and Hampton (Oct. 20).

The regular season comes to an end on the road at Charleston Southern (Oct. 23). The Big South tournament will be hosted by the higher seeds and played among the top six remaining teams this season between October 30th and November 7th.
