Radford Takes Down Concord in Final Exhibition

RADFORD, Va. - The Radford women's soccer team finished off exhibition play Sunday night with a 3-0 win over Concord.

The game was pushed back due to lightning in the area right before kick-off, but after the weather cleared out the Highlanders got to work and netted their first goal in the 33rd minute by Amy Swain.

Radford took that 1-0 lead into the half and would build on it quickly with two more goals in the second half. The first came from one of the Highlanders' top goal-scorers from the 2021 spring season, Brianna Oliver, as she scored a goal off a penalty kick. The Highlanders third and final goal of the night came from a great shot off the foot of Alexeis Kirnos from about 35 yards out.

The Radford defense played a solid 90 minutes and recorded a shutout as both Lauren Seedlock and Reilly Skorupski saw time in the net.

Radford will return to action on Thursday, August 19th when they will open up the regular season at home against Mount St. Mary's.
