Parris and McLane Collect Big South Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that freshman Kat Parris has been named Big South Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week (her third weekly award of the season) and Lily McLane has been named Big South Offensive Player of the Week.

The hot streak for the freshman Parris continues as she becomes the first Highlander to ever win back-to-back Big South Freshman of the Week honors since the conference started handing out the award in 2016. Adding her Offensive Player of the Week award in week one, Parris is also the first Highlander to collect three straight weekly awards in program history.

Nobody has found an answer for how to stop Parris so far this season as she continues to fuel Radford's offense. After a quiet Thursday, she scored the team's opening goal against Delaware State. That goal would end up being her conference-leading third game-winner of the season. After taking a hard hit midway through the first half, Parris left the game but returned in the second half and immediately contributed another goal.

McLane played a large part in assisting Radford's offense last week as she picked up her second and third straight games with an assist against ETSU and Delaware State. Her four total assists this season rank tied for first on the team and first in the conference. McLane has been vital in Radford's attacks off corners, of which the team leads the conference in 21 total corner kicks so far this season.

Parris, McLane and the Highlanders have a handful of road matches to close out this week as the team travels to Marshall on Thursday and George Mason on Sunday.
