JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The Radford women's golf team jumped up two spots on the final day of the Benbow Invitational to place eighth at the Butler-hosted tournament.
Playing the Par 71, 6021-yard Jacksonville Beach Golf Course, all six Highlanders competing this week improved their scores from the first round to the second. As a team, Radford's stroke count went from 331 across the first 18 holes to just 310 the second time through.
Natalie Welsh once again led the charge, shooting 5-over par (76) on Tuesday to finish tied 13
th on the individual leaderboard at +13. She once again avoided any big setbacks and earned a birdie of the 18
th hole.
Jayde Dudley took a step forward with a 78 in the second round, her best performance of the spring by far. The Hidden Valley High School product buried a team-leading three birdies and ends the tournament in 41
stplace at +19.
Jimenna Ramirez came in just behind her, shooting +20 over the last two days to tie for 41
st. She moved up nine spots thanks to a 78 in the second round as well, recording her lone birdie on the 17
th hole.
Riko Nagai shaved seven strokes off of her first-round score to join Dudley and Ramirez with a 78 on Tuesday. She shot for par on a solid 13 out of 18 holes on the day and tied for 46
th with a +21 overall.
Niki Batac and
Kaitlyn Mosdell each shot +25 for the tournament, tying for 58
th. Mosdell competed as an individual and had a pair of birdies on the 3
rd and 6
th holes.
