Swain Collects Second Straight Big South Player of the Week Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that Amy Swain has been named Big South Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week.

Swain continued her hot streak last week scoring a goal at Mount St. Mary's and a goal against Marshall, extending her goal-streak to four games. The Ashburn, Va. has reached a double-digit career goal total, with now 10 in her career with the Highlanders.

Her first goal of the week came at Mount St. Mary's in the 64th minute of the match and was pivotal in allowing the Highlanders to eventually tie 1-1 in enemy territory. This past Sunday, Swain had the best offensive performance of her career with a goal and three assists to total a single-game career-best five points in a 5-1 victory.

The weekly honor is the second in Swain's career at Radford after collecting her first last week. Swain is the first Highlander to garner Big South weekly awards in back-to-back weeks since Kat Parris did it in 2021, earning awards in three straight weeks.

Swain and the Highlanders have one match slated for this week as nonconference play is winding down. Radford hosts Western Carolina on Sunday, September 10th with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
