CONCORD, N.C. – The Radford women's golf team added another feather to its cap on Tuesday, securing a top-5 finish with a strong third round at the Charlotte Invitational.
Radford posted its best team score of the tournament, shooting a 304 to edge out Marshall for fifth place. The Highlanders finished at +57 while the Thundering Herd slipped one place back at +58.
Representing the Highlanders with a pair of top-20 finishes,
Macy Johnson and
Caroline Gilreath each shot +13 to tie for 16
th out of 53 golfers in the field. Gilreath's third-round 75 was her best of the week, knocking in two birdies, while Johnson birdied her first and 18
th holes on the day.
Matching her second round score of 78,
Grace Addison tied for 23
rd at +17, while
Mckenzie Weddle once again put together a stellar third round, shooting a team-best 74 to climb the leaderboard and settle into a tie for 26
th at +18.
A birdie on the 11
th hole was the highlight of
Shea Smith's day as she finished out her 54 holes playing as an individual. She leaves Concord tied for 32
nd at 20-over par.
After a strong first round score of 76,
Hannah Lindemann faced some uncharacteristic struggles as the redshirt sophomore shot 82 in both the second and third rounds. Even still, the experience will no doubt help her continue to lead the team when it matters most this spring.

The 2023 fall season has come to a close! The Highlanders will take the winter to continue working in preparation for the 2024 spring slate, which begins on February 12 at the Oyster Shuck Match Play in Charleston, S.C.
