Second Day of Sea Palms Invitational In The Books

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Radford men's golf team saw plenty of highs and lows throughout the second round of the Sea Palms Invitational on Friday.

Junior Bryce Corbett had the best day out of the five Highlanders on the course, shooting a +1 72. He recorded a trio of birdies to match his output from Thursday while also avoiding any results worse than a bogey. The performance helped Corbett move four spots up the individual leaderboard and into a tie for 47^thplace.

Both Nathan Piatt (T-35^th) and Patrick Gareiss (88^th) went 2-over par on the day. Piatt led the team with four birdies to his name, but two double bogeys on the fourth and 18^th holes limited his ability to sustain his success. Gareiss was much better today than yesterday, shaving four strokes off his score to climb 12 spots.

Nicholas Taliaferro (T-60^th) and Max Van De Kuilen (T-112^th) shot +6 and +8 respectively this time out. They sunk two birdies each with both men carding a four on the Par 5 eighth hole.

As a team, Radford dropped seven spots in the standings and head into the final day locked into a tie for 18^thplace. The positive is they're only eight strokes back of ninth place, making a big leap completely plausible over the final 18 holes.
