CLEMSON, S.C. -- Following a midweek victory over Kennesaw State in their last game, the Radford University women's lacrosse team returned to action on Sunday afternoon at Clemson. The Highlanders traveled to the Palmetto State to battle the 24th nationally-ranked Tigers and fell by a final score of 23-2.
Following a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference contests against Duke and Boston College, the Tigers hosted Radford in their penultimate non-conference matchup of the season. Clemson assumed an early advantage, scoring the first five goals of the contest. Freshman Highlander
Mady Cheney put the visitors on the board midway through the opening quarter as she tallied her sixth goal of the season.
Clemson continued to pull away for the remainder of the game, ultimately scoring 18 consecutive goals before the Highlanders could find a response. Radford's leading scorer
Margaret Gleason scored the final goal of the day when she registered her team-high 13th goal of the season.Â
Gleason led the team with four shots on the day while Cheney added two shots of her own.
Olivia Hunter played all 60 minutes in goal, recording five saves.Â
