CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A trio of Radford women's lacrosse players swept the weekly Big South awards for the past week of play, the conference office announced on Tuesday morning. Ashlyn Grogan (Offensive Player of the Week), Olivia Hunter (Defensive Player of the Week) and Mady Cheney (Freshman of the Week) were recognized for their performances following the Highlanders' two victories over Delaware State and Akron to wrap up non-conference play.

Grogan earned the offensive nod after piecing together a solid week that included two hat tricks. The junior also posted a season-high nine points against the Zips last Saturday. She now leads the team in points and has started every contest this season.

Hunter picked up the defensive accolades after another impressive performance between the sticks. The Mechanicsville, Va. native has played every minute of the season and has tallied 83 saves. She recorded 19 saves across two games last week, including an .800% save percentage against Akron before the shutout ended with a few minutes remaining in the contest.

The freshman Cheney was recognized as she continues a hot start to her collegiate career. The first-year midfielder netted her first collegiate hat trick in the first half against Delaware State. She added a pair of goals against Akron and found success at gaining draw control for the Highlanders all week.

This marks the first time in program history that the Highlanders have swept the conference's weekly accolades. Radford's sweep of the weekly awards comes on the heels of the team's Big South opener at Campbell on Wednesday night. The Highlanders will begin their conference slate against the Fighting Camels at 6:00p.m.
