Corbett Cruises To Second Place Finish At Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Junior Bryce Corbett just narrowly missed out on another tournament title on Sunday, instead taking second place at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate presented by Dogwood State Bank. The Radford men's golf team finished sixth out of 10 teams.

Corbett was excellent once again, shooting a 2-under par 70 for the second time in three rounds this weekend. He carded four birdies and eagled the 6^th hole – his second eagle of the tournament.

The Gainesville, Va. native completed his day with a slim advantage over the rest of the field and held onto it until the final two holes. East Carolina's Licas Augustsson birdied the 16^th, 17^th, and 18^th holes to make a stunning comeback and snatch the first-place honors away from Corbett in the final moments.

Even still, this marks the third time Corbett has earned a top-3 finish and the fourth time he's grabbed a top-5 finish during the 2022-23 season.

Not to be outdone were the duo of Nathan Piatt and Bobby Dudeck, who each shot a 1-under par 71 on Sunday to place T-12^th and T-14^th respectively. Piatt led the entire field with 40 pars across 54 holes while Dudeck tallied 10 birdies over three rounds, close to the very most of any competitor on the course.

Nicholas Taliaferro shot a 77 to tie for 51^st and while Patrick Gareiss matched that 77 to cross the finish line tied for 58^th. Channing Blevins repeated his first-round 78 and ended the weekend tied for 65^th overall.

There's no time to dwell on the results of the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate as the Highlanders immediately begin play in the Wofford Intercollegiate tomorrow. The tournament, which will be played at the familiar Country Club of Spartanburg, will take place on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4.
