Radvanyi Earns Highlanders’ Second Straight Freshman of the Week Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South conference announced Tuesday afternoon that Lexi Radvanyi has been named Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week after her two clean sheets that led to a tie and win for the Highlanders last week.

Radvanyi stepped into a starting role this week and was crucial to the Highlanders' success. The freshman allowed zero goals on 19 shots faced with five total saves this week. Radvanyi made plenty of crucial stops including punch outs on corner kicks and saves in crowded boxes for Radford at Richmond.

Against Hampton, a pesky Pirate offense that had scored three goals in their last two games, Radvanyi again provided crucial leadership in navigating their attack in another shutout. Overall on the season the Leesburg, Va. native has allowed just one goal in 241 minutes with that goal coming against #5 Virginia.

Radvanyi and the Highlanders are currently preparing for another jam-packed week of nonconference action facing another powerful opponent this upcoming Thursday, September 7th at Tennessee. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on SEC Network+.
