WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Picking up momentum in the second round that carried on into the third and final round, the Radford women's golf team placed fifth at the conclusion of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.
ROUND 1
For the first round of the invitational, the Highlanders finished their first outing on the course finishing 40 over par as a team. Pacing the Highlanders was Grace Addison as she would go three over par to finish as she would birdie the fifth and seventh holes. However, she would record five bogeys leaving her shooting a 75 (+3) before heading to round 2.
ROUND 2
In the second round the Highlanders would pick up the momentum as they would improve on their first-round finish, only shooting 21 over par to finish the second. Taking charge was Macy Johnson as she would finish day one shooting 71(-1). She would pick up birdies in the 2nd, 7th, 9th and 15th holes but would bogey 3rd, 4th, and 14th to leave her at the one under par mark. Caroline Gilreath also had herself quite the day as she would wrap up day one finishing on par with three birdies and three bogeys on her scorecard.
ROUND 3
For the final round the Highlanders would finish out the Kingsmill Intercollegiate shooting 21 over par to finish in 5th place, at the top half of the table. Macy Johnson, Caroline Gilreath, and Jimenna Ramirez who played as an individual would all finish in top 15 spots for the Highlanders. Johnson would finish tied at 11th, Gilreath at 14th, and Ramirez would notch the tie at 15th.
