CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Lilly Short has been named the Offensive Player of the Week after leading the conference with three goals in two matches.
Short was the difference in Radford's victory over High Point on Wednesday, scoring both goals in a 2-1 triumph. It was the senior's first multi-goal performance in a Big South match and third overall of her career. The Delaware native added her team-leading seventh goal of the season to get the Highlanders on the scoreboard at Winthrop on Saturday as well.
The weekly award is the third in Short's career with her last coming in August 2024 as Co-Offensive Player of the Week. She also earned Freshman of the Week honors in 2022. Short becomes the fourth different Highlander to receive a weekly award this season, joining Katie Purnell, Lexi Radvanyi, and Ryane Devlin.
The Highlanders play their final home match of the regular season next Saturday, October 25 for Senior Day at Cupp Stadium. They'll host Charleston Southern at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+. Radford can clinch a share of the Big South Regular Season Championship with a win.
