Radford’s Late Surge Not Enough as Men’s Soccer Falls At Presbyterian

BOX SCORE Radford, Va. – The Radford Men's Soccer program came up short in their Big South match against Presbyterian Saturday afternoon in a 3-2 final.

PLAY BY PLAY
Radford would open the match as the stronger side, controlling possession and creating early chances. In the 22nd minute, Kuca decided to do things himself taking the ball at mid-field around the defender all the way to the goal taking a shot that went just under the keeper. This goal would give the Highlanders a 1-0 lead at the half. The Highlanders continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, out shooting Presbyterian in both total shots and shots on goal.

In the 60th minute, Presbyterian would respond scoring a goal that leveled the score once again at 1-1. Presbyterian would score the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute and add another in the 79th minute to lead the Highlanders 3-1.

The Highlanders would continue to apply pressure leading to Akimoto's goal in the 89th minute. Presbyterian would go onto win the game, however, 3-2.
