CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced the end-of-season awards on Tuesday afternoon, with Kenshin Akimoto and Tyler Pulik both receiving recognition for the Highlanders.
Akimoto was the Highlanders leading point scorer for the season with 14. In the Big South, he was tied for fourth in goals on the season with six and tied for fifth in points. Akimoto was named the conference's player of the week once and to the Top Drawer Soccer team of the week once. Akimoto's brace against Longwood was the first by a Highlander in over a season.
Pulik was a main stay in the defense of Radford this year logging a total of 1,239 minutes in the back line. Pulik's leadership helped lead Radford to a 0-0 tie against a ranked Gardner-Webb squad. Academically, he boasts a 3.95 GPA in Allied Health Science and spends his time on campus helping students as a tutor. Pulik will continue continue his academic career at the number one PT doctoral program in the country at Delaware.
