Lacrosse Falls at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Radford women's lacrosse team fell to a tough Wofford squad Saturday afternoon 19-7 on the road.

The Highlanders got off to a strong start in Saturday's match thanks to Evie Gee who opened the scoring just one minute in for the 1-0 lead. After a 3-0 run by the Terriers gave the hosts a lead, Radford would respond with a run of their own.
Hannah Hanger would pull Radford within one at the 8:27 mark before O'Brien would net her first goal of the day to tie the game 3-3. Wofford's defense would tighten up from there, however, as Radford wasn't able to score for the remainder of the first half. An extended 8-0 run by Wofford would see their lead move to 11-3 at the half.
In the second half, O'Brien would end the Terriers scoring run with her goal at the 11:30 mark in the third quarter. Erica Lawrence would also score a goal in the third, but Wofford's lead remained at 15-5.
O'Brien completed her hat trick with 8:25 left in the game to begin Radford's scoring the fourth. Mady Cheney would add one more goal before the match came to a close with the 19-7 final.

The Highlanders are back at home in one week's time when they play host to Furman on Saturday, April 19th for a 2 p.m. start.
