Lacrosse Downed Against Furman

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team returned home Saturday afternoon but fell to a tough Furman squad 21-4.

The first quarter of Saturday's contest was a defensive battle between the two squads. Radford got the early 1-0 edge thanks to Wisniewski's first goal three minutes in. Ava LaManna stood strong in the net early, as Furman didn't find their equalizer until the 6:44 mark.
The Paladins scored twice more before the end of the first to go up 3-1. In the second, Mady Cheney pulled Radford back within one with her goal at the 9:41 mark. The Paladins ended the half on an 8-1 run, however, only broken up by another goal from Wisniewski for the 11-3 halftime deficit.
Furman would score five more in another defensive third quarter to pull ahead for good. In the fourth Wisniewski was able to score her third goal to complete the hat trick with 5:30 left in the match. Furman held on in the end, though, sealing the 21-4 finish.
