Hamrick Secures Another Big South Weekly Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Radford women's track and field star Jeylah Hamrick was named the Big South Co-Track Athlete of the Week earlier today. The sophomore shares the award with High Point's Brianna Malone.

Hamrick broke another school, meet, and Big South record with a lightning-fast time of 53.70 seconds in the 400-meter race at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invite at Liberty University this past Friday. She also anchored the Radford 4x400 meter relay team, helping the group secure a section win and a second-place overall finish with a time of 3:42.34.

This is Hamrick's third award this season, having been part of the relay team that won the Big South Track Athletes of the Week award last week.

The Highlanders head to Blacksburg for the VT Challenge, hosted at the Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech. The meet begins on Friday and concludes on Saturday and is the final tune up before the Big South Indoor Championships.
