KEY STORYLINES
Hamrick Going Ham: Radford sophomore Jeylah Hamrick hopes to repeat in the 400 meter and take a championship in the 200 meters after a spectacular season so far. The sprinting star from Williamsburg holds the school and Big South record in the 400 meters after clocking a 53.70 in the Darious Dixon Memorial earlier this season. She also has the best time in the Big South in the 200 meter this season, putting up a 24.27 time in the Doc Hale Invite on February 6.

Check Out That 4x4(00): The women's 4x400 relay team are considered the favorites for the conference crown. The group of Jordan Jackson, Raichelle Cornelius, Mattie Flores, and Hamrick enter having put up the best time among Big South members in the regular season, running a 3:40.20 at Virginia Tech on February 6. They might see some competition from Charleston Southern, who finished just over a second back from the Highlanders at the Doc Hale Invite.

Nelson Aims High: Sophomore Makayla Nelson is also primed to be going for gold in the high jump. The sophomore has the top mark in the conference going into the weekend, with a leap of 1.71 meters at the Liberty Kick Off set back in December. Nelson also one of two Highlanders racing in the 60 meters alongside freshman Janaya Moore.

Doing it All: Senior Kandace McIvor will be Radford's lone pentathlete competing at the Big South and the first this season. She'll compete in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and high jump.

Just Her Cup of Tea: Senior Sophie Magson hopes to have plenty of medals around her neck this weekend as the top long-distance threat for the Highlanders. The England native has posted the second-best conference time in the mile (4:48.19 at the Doc Hale Invite) and the third-best in the 3000 meters (9:36.47 at the Hokie Invite). A win against High Point's Brianna Malone in any of the long-distance events would be a surprising upset and cement the Brit as one of the best Highlander student-athletes of all-time.

Hustlin' Through Hurdles: Senior Jaslyne Robinson hopes to crash the party and get onto the podium in the 60-meter hurdles. She posted a new personal best and placed third at the Virginia Tech Challenge last weekend with a time of 8.71 seconds.

Joining the Club: Freshman Jaelynn Joiner already has a couple of Big South Freshman of the Week awards stashed and looks to add a conference medal with them. Her best chance for a podium spot is in the triple jump, with her personal best mark of 12.19 meters checking her in the top four of competitors in the event.

Stacking the Odds: The Highlanders will have a handful of runners in the 400-meter event, the most for any team at the Big South Championships. Hamrick has posted the best time in the conference entering the weekend, but Flores, Cornelius, and freshman Grace Onwi should prove to be tough competition for the rest of the runners.

DMR Time: The Highlanders hope to repeat their performance earlier in the season in the distance medley relay. Their season-best of 12:29.70 ranks second in the conference. While they'd need a large leap to compete with Charleston Southern's time of 12:04.95, they should be in line to compete to join the Buccaneers on the podium. In addition, the Radford men's DMR team also should be in the mix for a medal in the event, running a 10:14.67 earlier this season.

T(win)ning: The Rosser twins, Mya and Jaylen, hope to threaten the rest of the conference in both the shot put and weight throw events. Jaylen's top mark of 16.90 meters in the weight throws earlier this season puts her in the top half of competitors across the conference.

Men's Track is Back: For the first time since 2014, Radford will have the men competing at the Big South Indoor Championships. Some key men to look for is Quinlan Beegle in the 3000 meters and relays, Andrew Picataggi in the jumps, and Tyrique Taylor in the shot put.
